I love coffee, I love tea

A dull and drear New Year’s eve, my Christmas present to me & from me just landed on the mat: a La Cafetiere Tea Swizzle

I love coffee, I love tea
I love the java jive and it loves me
Coffee and tea and the java and me
A cup, a cup, a cup, a cup, a cup, boy

infusers

The traditional infuser always allows a lot of the finer tea to escape into my cup where the two halves meet. The new infuser promises much…

The basic design is simple and pleasing, a scoop that is an interference fit into the infuser shell.

Cafetire infuser

The initial fit is tight and needs a gentle tug to separate the two halves, let’s hope this fit stays true with use.

Performance:

The jury’s still out. It’s very easy to use the infuser, the scoop loads up well and the two parts fit together very snugly. I used  a very coarse tea and when the leaves swelled they were quite packed into the end of the tubular section, I had to dig them out with a teaspoon handle during cleaning. It did a good job of keeping tea where it belonged and made a very nice cup of tea.

Note: I’ve since discovered that the end cap of the infuser pops off to make cleaning a cinch – no mention of this on the packaging.
